C&W Sync Speed

On the Xilo C&W LLU (Extreme) package. My stats taken from RouterStats are as follows

Downstream
Noise Margin: 10.9 dB
Connection Rate: 15293 Kbps
Line Attenuation: 20.5 dB
Power: 19.1 dBm
Max Rate: 21388 Kbps

Upstream
Noise Margin: 5.9 dB
Connection Rate: 923 Kbps
Line Attenuation: 12.0 dB
Power: 12.3 dBm
Max Rate: 924 Kbps

I am using a DG834GT with DGteam firmware

The Xilo Extreme package which I am on shows it as being
Downstream 16-24Mb/s (<-- Not sure why it says 16-24??)
Upstream 1Mb

I have tried rebooting the router at various times, tweaking the SNR value in the DGteam firmware but the download sync speed always remains the same at 15293kbps. I have a downstream attenuation of 20.5db.

I know that the C&W default SNR is 9 and can be reduced by asking Xilo but was wondering in the first instance if anyone could shed light as to why the downstream sync speed always comes in at 15923.

I did run across a post which said that the speed could be capped at 16Mb.

Any info much appreciated.

Did you migrate from Xilo's O2W 16 meg package by any chance? If so it'll be because those transfers are meant to be capped at that 16 meg rate due to the reduced monthly tariff, compared to a new contract on that C & W package.

A 16Mb capped product would sync higher.

I suspect C&W have applied a rate limit at a lower value due to DLM thinking the line needs one.

Drop us a ticket, we can request DLM be removed and a default SNR set.
