ADSL24 > Coms now I want to migrate away

Hi please may I ask help and advice regarding my service which is now routed through Coms' network?

My router syncs at 8053 kbps and until Coms came along my downloads were in excess of 700 kB/s.
Now my traffic is routed through Coms' network I find that I am struggling around 500 kB/s.
Usenet downloads are a disaster beginning at approx. 500kB/s and decreasing slowly until after a few minutes they are struggling around 2kB/s.

The network appears to be throttling Usenet download speed.

I would also go so far to say that the network is over-subscribed and I say this because speed tests and general internet downloads vary greatly in speed over the duration of the test/download.

I am on the "Complete 50" package.
I may have been routed through O2/Be LLU or maybe C&W LLU?
...but now I am routed through Coms' network anyway, my service has deteriorated greatly.

All after I received assurance that the service would not change.

Please may I ask which other resellers/providers can give me the same service ADSL24 was?
It would be nice to find a company who could route me through the same network I was on previously as I was more than happy with the results.

Apparently, they're using TalkTalk.

I have also been thinking that throttling has been introduced. Before changeover I was getting over 2MB/sec download which fell slightly on changeover and is now bumping along at about 400K, a fifth of what I had before.

I don't know what's going on but I'm not impressed

More likely pure congestion, on a network that has been introduced from scratch and wrongly balanced. It should be fixable, but not in just a few days.

There are probably a few expletives going round their offices.

That tail could have been anyone, but the network they used to use was over Daisy wholesale network.

Don't worry, you are already on my radar together with a few others.

I have just called ADSL24/Coms support and they tell me that my previous service was routed through Merlin and that it is now routed through TalkTalk.
I have never heard of Merlin but is it BT's network?

A tracert to bbc.co.uk suggests that I am not on TalkTalk's network now but Entanet's instead (see tracert below).
So somewhere there is an inconsistency.
What could have happened here?

I have a phone and broadband package whether that makes any difference.
I don't yet have FTTC.

I'd rather pay a little more for a better service.
I sync at just over 8Mb and have a stable line.

At the beginning of the day my line achieves the kind of speed my sync will support across all platforms.
However, as the day wears on my speed drops off, beginning first with usenet downloads.
Yesterday between 8am and midday my speed went from 900KB/s down to 200KB/s.
Later in the afternoon http download speed started to decrease also until by the end of the evening I was around 1 - 2Mb for all protocols.

It appears that Coms don't know what they're talking about.

Except his tracert doesn't show he is on Enta until after it has reached Coms own router, via some sort of magic maybe.
