Re: Coms Complete subscribers.

What Nick said. I was a Complete 50 customer on ADSL24 and I've already requested a cease (and cancelled it) once already. There was no mention of this from Coms.

I've gone with the Vivaciti option myself now.

thanks to Nick for blazing the trail on the MPF route. this thread has been really helpful to me -so i thought i would share my experiences. i am also an ex adsl24 now on coms complete dsl100 (ie LLU phone and broadband). I have also started the migration to vivaciti, based on what Nick has said about the revised terms on no FUP.

incidentally, i did sign up to a 12 month contract with adsl24 in November 2013 (what a bad move that was!) - so technically i am bound in to coms until November but i raised a ticket with them ,referring to the FAQ sheet they provided us adsl24 customers with when the transfer to coms took place, which mentions no traffic shaping etc, and stated that the new throttling was a unilateral change to my ts and cs thus entitling me to leave now. They appear to accepted this -which they should, as it is the correct legal position.

i did also consider Xilo and have managed to convince them to look at their posiion again as they still thought that MPF to MPF was impossible to do. They now believe that they can but their system cannot currently cope with this manual transfer so they are having to redesign a new system their end to handle this type of order. they said it could take them a few weeks to do - but thios is unknown and theyve never done it before. Id rather go to vivaciti now as they appear to know exactly what they are doing

i was with adsl24 for 7 years with almost no problems apart from a few hitches when they were via enta. I have nothing but praise for adsl24 and am gutted that they sold out. Coms have really shot themselves in the foot on this one -spectacular incompetence.

if you are pricing a proiduct competitively ,and you want it to be genuinely unlimited, ie no FUP, no traffic shaping at all -then you have to have a usage cap (peak) at a sensible level. for years at adsl it was 30gb. that stops the jokers downloading the internet and saying it is their right to do so under the contract. why on earth coms raised this to 100gb peak allowance for the same cost, i do not know -and then they are shocked when they start to have problems?

i dont consider myself a very heavy user but i do d/l about 50 gb per month -so im quite happy to have an allowance cap at a sensible level and i accept that to have no cap i should have to pay a lot more. For coms to throttle me to 20kbps on all P2p -total? that is an absolute joke and i am out of there. good luck to coms in staying in business.
