XILO FTTC Activation Cost?

Having ummed and ahed for ages over which isp to go to for fibre (currently on adsl with coms), I'd finally decided to go with Xilo. However, when I went to sign up there was a migration/activation fee of £80 (possibly plus vat, can't remember) - has anybody else found that?

The only one-off fees I'd seen mention of on their website was a £40 charge. Consequently I didn't proceed as it was unexpected. Considering AAISP again now.

Wouldn't you end up paying more with AAISP in the end?

Not sure if you dismissed ourselves, but we personally don't charge anything for activation/migration to our FTTC products.

It would depend which package I was taking with xilo. I was looking at the 125gb package, in which case there would be that much in it, and the advantage of aaisp is only a 6 month contract. But a fairer comparison would probably be 50 or 75gb xilo package. In which case there would be a bit of a saving. However, having asked a couple of pre-sales questions today of xilo I haven't had an answer yet - possibly because they're tied up trying to sort out the outage affecting them and some other isps.....

It wasn't that I'd dismissed you, more that I just hadn't considered you until today! However, you've already answered a pre-sales question I raised in under 20 minutes. Suddenly a strong contender! Bit more reading to do before I make a final decision though.

Looks quite expensive to others i have looked at
