Anyone seeing a slowdown on Vivaciti enta connection?

As title really down to about 2 mbps since 8am, called the support line and they are putting it down to windows updates. Anyone else? How is it over there in Xilo land?

Am I the only one left at Vivaciti? Anyway Enta have said the slowdown was due to a massive MS update being released. I did my updates last night and they werent particularly large in download size unless this is another win 10 release. although I have seen nothing. Apparently MS peers with Enta.

The company I work for are an Enta reseller and whenever we pass on complaints about speeds they say its Microsoft updates. A few weeks ago our own 70Mb FTTC was down to 4Mb on speed tests, but they still gave the same reason.

Very rare to see any moans about Windows update size which are small compared to iOS and other updates usually. Plus suspect many homes go for a couple of days without turning on the PC, i.e. phone/tablet is enough for a lot of day to day activity now.

I called Enta support and that was the explanation given. Followed up with a ticket to Vivaciti which said they saw a lot of unprecedented traffic this morning and Enta peers with MS.

I have never seen my connection go down to 1 meg before except on ADSL Max with Zen. Funny thing is as I was doing speedtests I saw my graph peak at max for a second then rapidly come down and settle at 1-2 meg as if it was being shaped not congested. But the guy at Enta said traffic was coming down and my speeds should return to normal with a few hours and they did.

Looking at those graphs there is no peak at 8am-12pm when I was pretty slow unless it was a DDOS on Enta, and nothing on the Enta NOC pages. Back to normal now but I would love to know where all the traffic was from, my Windows Updates were pretty small, even for Win 10.

I left Vivaciti a few months after the migration to Enta. The reason I moved to Vivaciti in the first place was because Enta seems to have some sort of network issue in my area and experiences constant dropouts, which I saw again when my connection was migrated back to Enta.

I moved to Xilo and haven't seen any major slowdowns or persistent problems

Thanks for that. I spoke to Matt from Xilo/Uno by email at 2am and all my queries were answered, so its just a case of wait for the MAC.
