Someone just reminded me that some ISP's might still do the on peak/off peak package. Apart from one I have found (Freeola) which is cheap and has IPv6 so is obviously up to date (with a 30 day contract) can anyone else point me in the direction of any others please?
Thanks

Thanks, I will check out the other 2. Decided PN was not really for me. If reading the reviews elsewhere didn't sit well with me, the ones on their own forums totally put me off

Stay away from enta network!

Maybe the checker is just rubbish?

Hi prof, Maybe but that's pathetic if so.
Hi Max, noted cheers man! Edit, are they all Enta!?
Hi Hardy, I guess so. It's a terrible way to run a business in my view. They seem to be the only one I've tried in the past 2 days who could not do anything. I knew this was the case, I was hoping it might have changed but sadly not.
I just had a good chat with Freeola, they seem decent.

I am biased obviously but the Entanet network has been fine for us for the last few month since they upgraded some of the core. We've had no complaints regarding network slow downs since about September last year. Our Unlimited ADSL tariff is on TTB, the capped ones are not.

Cheers Rob,
I would probably go for your 30 day ADSL then because I have TTB already for FTTC and I would prefer to keep it on that if possible, so that's great news.

We can still do peak/offpeak if required.details are at http://www.vivaciti.net/broadband_home option on right is peak/offpeak

Cheers, As you are also in the list I will have a look
Edit. You do the old Plusnet style of 8am-midnight and then off peak overnight. I prefer the others that do 7pm-7am off peak as most of my usage would be during these times.
Thanks anyway

What peak data was you looking for?

Hey 23Prince
The freeola is pretty good on ADSL2+ with line rental very cheap! And it only one month contract. But, I don't know how much for new line as I rather to keep my master socket with fibre 80/20 with plusnet until the contract is end or I can leave PN by September with price increase and can migrated over to freeola superfast broadband with line.
http://freeola.com/line-rental/
I do hope the network is much better now at Enta?

See Our price list
£54 to get a new line, £11.99 to transfer if WLR a bit more if the line is MPF. No calls except emergency and free phone.

Thanks sound a good price! I might be thinking of having ADSL2+ as a backup with new line with no contract as I do have ADSL2+ router in the cupboard. Will let u know as soon as possible.

To be fair I realised that it does not matter I can use the FTTC in the day, it's just a switch on the network for this building

Hi Max,
Well, I think first I need to try and get a downgrade from FTTC to ADSL and then go for it. Yes it is a good deal. the 30 day contract will also help. £15.95 for unlimited ADSL is brill and the 1 month free is also fantastic

Possibly depending who your FTTC supplier is, a downgrade to ADSL2+ is likely to land you with a long contract. Though Plusnet do seem to have a more expensive monthly option.

If I go this route I would just let BT expire and then get re connected that way. Which I assume can happen.

Probably involving connection charges with the small ISPs so make sure you check.

Cheers, To be honest I am happy to pay the connection fee with Freeola, I'm looking at them now - as they also do 30 day ADSL for about £25 a month that would suit me better.

Does your price of £21pm for broadband include the cost of a phone line?
Michael Chare

I want to know this also, but it should do. Even talk talk do free ADSL with a 16.95 line rental, £21.95 after the 12 months on a 12 month contract
|
|
|
Line rental is on top of this.

Thank you for your reply. You might want to check whether your website
conforms to the recent (Ofcom/government) ruling on the way broadband prices should be advertised.

Hi,
Yes it does, the new rules only apply if you have to take the broadband and line rental from the same supplier. The smaller ISP's don't always force you so you can take your line rental from a different supplier.

Is there any reason why your account isn't flagged as an ISP one when it you are obviously an ISP Rep?
I don't think anybody is going to be confused because of your user name, but still .....
