Community Fibre - Croydon HIGH latency and HIGH ping

Anyone in the Croydon region experiencing high latency and high ping as of late!?

Community Fibre 1Gbps

Some screenshots from a speedtest not that it helps much other than usually on a mobile device were used to seeing speeds in the hundreds.

As you can see the speedtest on the router itself illustrates that there appears to be nothing untoward that's wrong. However, I disagree as the connection monitoring on the FireBrick clearly illustrates otherwise.

Ping times on FIFA23 on the Xbox as of late are in their hundreds and most often I loose connection whilst playing a match resulting in being sanctioned with a loss of points and penalised.

UPDATE: Soft Temporarily BANNED on FiFA for too many DNF (did not finish) through no fault of my own due to Connection dropping.

(P.S) XBOX console(s) and PC's are ALL Ethernet HardWired Cat6
ONLY Mobile Devices and the kids Tablets are Wireless on the network

What do CF have to say about it / any announcements on their support portal?

Contacted support and they asked us to run a speed test and they confirm there is no issues on the network at their end as the speedtest shows. I disagree as it's evident that something is not right here. I've now added a live graph and shared it to try and build a better picture to hopefully track the issue more easily. Wil call CFL again tomorrow and also try and speak to our neighbours to see if they too are experiencing technical issues with their CFL fibre connections.

When sharing your graphs users will be able to see your graph name "Community Fibre CFLWB2020" however your IP address will remain private, please make sure you don't have any private information you do not wish others to see in your graph name.

I tried to not reveal my ip but it seems the system had other ideas and revealed it regardless 😒

Hi - I'm in the South Croydon area and on CF with a 1G connection. But have nothing like your stats.

Have had a few random disconnects and a few dropped calls as a result, but overall latency been pretty good consistently through the day.

Have noticed that the IP6 address is never as sticky as the IP4 and that breaks my BQM quite regularly.

Have you rebooted your hardware? Looks very much like your router has crashed and gone into fail safe provision.

I contacted CFL technical support again today and went through the usual steps of rebooting the router and modem and left it unplugged for about 10 minutes or so and and powered it all back up again and obtained a new IP address. There has been some slight improvement but not exactly fantastic to the level it was at previously once at.

Speedtests are now over the 8Mbps mark and now hitting just over 40Mbps but nowhere near the hundreds were used to seeing on Ookla speedtest reports. With the new IP address assignment as you can see there was an improvement of almost 4x that of the 8Mbps reported in previous tests so I cannot deny the fact that I'm guessing the new IP address allocated had helped somewhat, but again nowhere even near the speeds we have previously enjoyed

Going to give CFL Support another call tomorrow and try to get the issue escalated to their senior networking team. There's a guy called Alex that I've previously dealt with and his knowledge is a spot on! Hopefully I can speak to him tomorrow 🤞

Awesome, your from the same town too this is handy to know as it will help cross references any issues in the future too. 👍

I've experienced the same the occasional disconnect and the odd dropped call but other than that it's been pretty flawless to be honest. However, this last week the connection has been horrendous.

I used to monitor the ipv4 but most recently I logged back in and had to create a new monitor because the old one wouldn't update, checked ping wan is still enabled and all is ok on that side of things but it automatically created an ipv6 monitor.

Going to take a look at your graphs to compare them against my end here,
