YouFibre. Yes or no?

Have been with vodafone for a while now, and have endured a few faults (one of them major) and the poor customer support. But I came home today to find YouFibre digging out for a new chamber right outside my property. Can I hope for a good service when I'm ready to jump ship? I'm not worried about prices right now.

It was apparently Netomnia - but the guys working were wearing Youfibre vests.
Anyone experienced Netomnia?

Netomnia are the Openreach equivalent, YouFibre are the ISP.

What kind of Vodafone service: ADSL/FTTC? FTTP (Openreach)? FTTP (Cityfibre)? 4G/5G mobile? Something else?

There will likely be a number of options available to you to move away from Vodafone, in addition to the new fibre you've seen being installed.

As regards YouFibre/Netomnia, I can't give any experience of them, but they are one of a number of small altnets. A full-fibre network is likely to be more reliable than an FTTC or 4G/5G connection, but most altnets don't offer a choice of ISP - so you're limited to their Internet offering and their customer service. Some features you might need (e.g. no CGNAT, static IP, IPv6) may not be available.

I'm currently with Youfibre, i have been for about 6 months or so now here in Bridgend South Wales.

Install was done by 3 guys who did a great job and installed the ONT into my garage as requested without any issues, very nice neat and tidy job.

I have the 1gb package which thus far as been very reliable with the full speed all the time, and notification of any scheduled works to be performed well in advance.

Only downsides i would say to them are the CGNAT as standard you'll have a CGNAT ip address without IPV6 which is somewhat of a let down, so to get around this i pay £5 for a static ip.

I'm currently on vodafone's superfast 100. After the poor start it's been faultless.
I'm liking the look of the 1Gb offering from youview for less than £30 - £2 more than I'm paying for 100Mb. I did say I wasn't bothered about the price but that is really tempting. I would need remote access to my home fileserver over IPv4, but even +£5 for a static IP may swing it.
The only alternative provider around me is virgin but I won' t even consider that.
These are early days though so plenty of time to do more investigating.

Netomnia has also been busy laying new fibre and installing CBTs into existing Openreach chambers in my street.

I notice Youfibre may be installilng a different wifi router. Previously, I think they supplied an Adtron ONT with Eero routers.

But there is a new all-in-on Aris which combines an ONT and wifi 6 router

Update: I emailed youfibre and they say they currently supply Adtran ONT with the Aris router. The Aris is not a modem/ONT.

Correct - The Arris is just a router, you still need the ONT in front of it

Both my neighbours have it as our street was installed recently. They seem happy on 1gb symmetrical.... I will be jumping ship too once my zen/or contract is up.....

It's a big yes from me. Moving to synchrnous 1 Gb broadbandfrom BT FTTC (with the speed halving over 12 months) is incredible. Samknows whitebox is measuring approx 940 up and 940 down.

When working from home in a garden office connected via powerline, my experience was severely compromised when anyone in the house streamed or played online. I have now run some armoured network cables up the garden, but will test the old powerline and compare to the external cat 6.

One more thing - the price is a welcome relief. I'm going to be jettisoning BT broadband and phone.
