I've just read a thread from this time last year with some helpful insights as to the service from NOW, hoping that it's alright to get some recent opinions?
Having been with TalkTalk since forever, including being out of contract currently, I've finally got round to switching to something less expensive and would like to try the NOW Broadband Super Fibre service.
My only hesitation is in reading some negative opinion as to the quality of the NOW Hub 2 router that is supplied, with one site citing its five internal antennae as inferior to modern alternatives from other ISP's, something I assume suggests it's wireless coverage might not be as good?
I was happily using a very ancient Huawei HG533 for the longest time, despite TalkTalk trying frequently to get me to use the HG633, but had to switch when the older model stopped working. I've had no issues with speed or wireless coverage around my home with either router while using the TalkTalk Fast Fibre service.
A cursory search suggests that the HG633 only has three internal antennae, something I assume (again) is inferior to a model with five? It's surely too old to be considered modern, but is it likely to be any better than the NOW Hub 2?
I don't have any sophisticated needs from the router, only that it allows for the same whole-house coverage that the HG633 provides currently, and lets me use the common streaming platforms on TVs and devices upstairs and downstairs.
Any guidance gratefully received!
