Community fibre install alongside landline

[link to this post]

Does the community fibre FTTP offering install alongside an existing landline or replace it?

Currently asking as my current ADSL TalkTalk is getting a bit long in the tooth and also expensive. I have a medical alert box on the landline which will need some sort of VOIP adaptor or complete replacement if the landline has to be removed.

Wondering if I can keep the landline in parallel with the Community fibre 1Gps package.

It is a completely separate service so you can keep your old landline (obviously you would then be paying for line rental charges on the landline plus the FTTP service)..

But...

Landline services will move over to digital voice by 2025. Not sure how quickly TalkTalk are planning to do that but it will happen. Your medical alert box might still work over digital voice but you would be best to get that confirmed before you get the letter/email saying they are switching you - the more time you have the better prepared you will be.
