EO Line now accepting Lightspeed Fibre, not bt?

[link to this post]

Hi all,

I currently live in a MDU(Multi-Dwelling Unit) and in quite close to a town here in the East Of England.
I have always had the fight of waiting for Openreach to provide resounding to create an upgrade to the Fibre network, rather than the outdated copper. This hasn't been easy!

Currently, my line can hold a steady 14Mbps-17Mbps Download and 0.7Mbps-1Mbps Upload.

I had starting looking at a potential house's speed that we was viewing and I had auto-filled the postcode into lightspeed with my own. When I did check and thought nothing would change, to my surprise it said "Great News!". Yep it says its now available, I have placed the order for it hoping it isn't a fluke.

Is there a possibility that this is possible? Remember, this is a MDU and was told by Openreach it would take ages for installations of this kind and could take years from now still.

Sorry to ramble there, im just not sure? Do they have a separate infrastructure to Openreach? and would that result in Openreach sites to not pick up that I am ready to connect?

Also, P.S. I haven't received any emails yet regarding account creation or picking Installation date.
Many thanks, any info you need. Let me know.

Correct, absolutely nothing to do with openreach at all. In the same way Virgin Media is a separate network to Openreach. Openreach would have no idea if you buy from Lightspeed, and their existance will have no impact on Openreach plans in your MDU (I assume flats?). You might need to check with the freeholder if any wayleaves are required.

Thanks for clearing that up, I did think that was the case. Yep, it sure is MDU Flats, I do hope this definitely isn't a hiccup and not stuck with rubbish copper speeds for eternity.

Many thanks for info.
