Any way to tell if ive been put on Tiscali

[link to this post]

I was just wondering if there is any way of finding out if ive been migrated to the tiscali LLU network other than raiseing a ticket and waiting days for a response.

My line lost sync on friday lunchtime and has only now just come back up during which time the ticket i raised friday afternoon had not been looked at as far as i cant tell and the automated fault checker didnt complete its tests.

My line speeds and stats are the same 8mb 832kb (20:1) and interleveing is still on.

From the contetion of 20:1 and uplink speed, I suppose you are on a business package. There was a comment somewhere saying that business and PAYG srvices were not being (or not supposed to be ) moved to LLU.
In any case there should be a ticket if they make any changes - look at your closed tickets

Can you connect using the following username

bt_test@startup_domain with the password test if this works you are still on a IPStream product.

Is this a 100% foolproof way of testing for LLU/IPStream?
The reason i ask is i have been refused my MAC from my ISP on the grounds of it being "a process specific to BT supplied ADSL capability"
Yet i can log on using bt_test@startup_domain with no problem

That login works if you are on a BT IPstream product. It appears PlusNet is in the process of transferring your connection to Tiscali LLU. In the next few days that test login wont work.
There is talk of a migration process for issuing LLU mac keys. As I dont work for PlusNet I cant shed any light on this. Maybe the other users have more info on this.
Where you warned that you was moving to LLU as you should of been and given the chance to opt out of the move.

That sounds wrong, all the BT ADSL products support migration...sounds more like you're on an LLU service

What proof do you have of this. Personally speaking, moving to an LLU operator was one of the best ADSL moves I have made.

Thats why i asked if it was 100% foolproof.
This has been ongoing with my ISP ---------which isnt Plusnet (sorry to hijack the thread )
I was refused my MAC since requesting it on 21st July, so it seems strange that i can still use the bt login, yet be refused an MAC after this long.

That was your decision Ian, made after you had time to weigh up the pros and cons. Would you be as happy if you turned on your puter to find you had been moved to say Datastream by your ISP?.
