It's getting desperate out there

[link to this post]

I've noticed posts from ex-Plusnet customers who have been getting letters from Plusnet asking them to come back. I got a call from Pipex today (my last ISP) asking me who I'd moved to, why I'd moved, and would I like to know about their great new deals.

Things must really be starting to bite for some of these guys.

Incidentally I told him I wasn't interested in moving. He tried to push it, telling me they could save me money, but I said I didn't want to know.

"You're not interested in saving money?" he said, incredulously. I replied that if I wanted to save money, all I had to do was move to a cheaper house, but I like the neighbourhood so I'm staying. I'm on 2Mb Premier, and that's fine for me. Line still stable, and don't get anywhere near the Peak Time limits anymore. If things change in the future of course, my answer may be different, but not yet.

God I hate pushy salesmen.

Shame Pipex are not trying to save their existing customers money. Like Plusnet before them it appears that the new product prices are not available if you already signed a 12 month contract at a higher price. I say appears because Pipex also refuse to help their customers on here.
Reckon either ISP could learn anything from each other?

Normally if you "upgrade" to a higher product with more money theres no cost.

Downgrading though to a lower montly cost normally incurrs an "Admin Charge" this has always been the case for a long time sometimes they are kind though.

There would be no penalty and you can "Move for free" that is until you decide to leave within a year then they will ask you for the
