In reply to:

20/08/2006 @ 12:48 Portal Server Errors - New
We are currently investigating an issue regarding the security certificate on some of our portal servers.

This means customers may receive an error message when browsing to secure sections of our site.

We are working on this at present, and will post a further update shortly.

Kind Regards
Mand Beckett

It is only affecting 3 out of the 11 portal servers (the other 8 have a correct cert) so will not be affecting everyone.

Well, the service IS still working. AFAIK, the ceritficate has just expired - your data would still be encrypted I believe?

Slightly unprofessional, yes. The dates of expiry should have been noted in any audits which they have done on their systems, so someone should know. But then again, it's a Sunday and I doubt if any of the techies are in to renew the certs.

This happened to us a while back. Can't remember the exact cause, either something had corrupted the certs in the registry or something damaged the physical file on the server's hdd...but it was just "software" glitches, nothing more. Just meant lots of people stayed away from certain sites on our intranet.
