Cease and provide turnaround times

[link to this post]

I'm now looking at moving away from Plusnet due to me losing faith with them since I was moved onto LLU.

During this past month there have been problems with disconnections and now with email.

My intention was to be using an ISP who provides an excellent service. I know that there have been problems since the Max period where it has strained the CS, but on the LLU it has been not so joyful especially since the connection has been very unstable or unusable.

My understanding is that to move over to a different ISP I need to either request a MAC or cease my contract and have my line be reprovided by the new ISP. Does anybody here have any experience in this, how long it might take, what problems they have had to get their line ADSLed again?

If you're on LLU you will get an LLU mac which isn't really any good, very few ISPs take them. Plus you can't move to anyone elses LLU servcies with them.

What you should do is open a ticket, and ask to be moved back to BT IPstream. They apparently will do this if you have had problems (which it sounds like you have). They won't like to do this tho, since it costs them

Oh, btw, if you're looking for a good ISP, I strongly recommend Be who are active on your exchange (www.bethere.co.uk). You'll need an IPstream MAC tho if you want to migrate to them, they won't take a LLU MAC.
