PlusNet

It seems Tiscali are still the new Tiscali, but this week sees the gap close.

I don't think the marketing director for PN really likes his job!

"By definition, network is finite, the resources in the network that can be applied to customers is finite. We came clean real quick on that one.."

The latter is a complete joke but the former isn't unlike PN who state:

"Remember, unlike other providers there are no fixed limits on how much you can use during off-peak periods"

Is it any different? It is now because until two days ago it stated "no fixed download limit" and no mention of "off-peak"!

BTW I have just noticed the changes to the usage description on PN portal and at first I was impressed that they had come clean and clearly stated the limits but then I saw this:

Option 1
Peak-time usage allowance 20GB
Speeds Up to 8Mb*
Price

"However, two weeks ago PlusNet announced it was pausing the migration of its customers onto Tiscali Wholesale's LLU platform so that it could "take stock of the situation". A number of PlusNet's customers had reported problems in the migration, and the company refunded those who had experienced more than seven days of downtime. It has yet to resume the process."

What complete nonsense! Do journalist ever check their facts anymore?

Last line of the article:
In reply to:

"One thing that these guys all have in common is their complete inability in being able to manage a network, which is something that we are totally transparent on and also do totally effectively," he claimed.

Hi
The technically competent guys at PlusNET must cringe each time a new press release is issued, and the others just lap it up.

Its clear the upper manangement really have no technical knowledge and the ones that do dont have any input.

Waits for the PUG to appear and defend this latest drivel.

"Should I laugh out loud or should I cry?"

I would doubt there is another ISP who has had as many big outages this year. People have said that marketing is mostly bending the truth, but I think it just got beaten about the head, tortured, set on fire, cleaved in two and its charred carcass dumped on waste ground.
