mail down again?

[link to this post]

Remoted Desktoped to my machine at home and my firetrust software is reporting that i cant connect to any of my 5 mail accounts, keeps coming up aksiing for a password, checked +net site for any faults, nothing showing, anyone else having issues.
Surfing appears fine as does my RD session, so are the some mail server issues yet again?

It is working for me, although oddly I have to put in my username and password each time, so something isn't right, just not sure what yet. Shame the emails that are coming through are spam though.

Duration of expected customer impact:-
A few minutes at the beginning of each period of maintenence.

Expected customer impact:-
BT are performing hardware upgrades to the equipment used across our central pipes which provide the link between BT's network and ours. This upgrade will provide us the capability to use a number of BT's Advanced Services in the future, allowing us to guarantee Quality Of Service within the BT network. Any users connected via a particular BT Central at the time the maintenance work is conducted will experience a brief disconnection in service. Those affected will be able to reconnect immediately to one of the other BT Centrals that we use.

The interesting line to me at least is where is says "This upgrade will provide us the capability to use a number of BT's Advanced Services in the future" how about getting what you have working correctly before trying to mess up something else for us all, Errrr hello +NET, are you listening to your customers, errrr No would appear to be the answer

Subject: Mail Authentication - NEW

We are currently investigating reports of intermittent POP3 authentication failures across our mail platform. Affected customers may find that their password is rejected when attempting to collect mail.

We will provide further information as it is made available.

you know what, it's make me think, why would i pay less and take on +nets phone service when you can pay a few pence more and have the one you had with BT that works all the time, like wise with the rest of their service.
I think it's time i started looking at how the other ISP's stack up against this shower, every day it's one thing after another, why cant +net concentrate on being an isp instead of inempt chimps who cant run a tea party

Tam, you are pretty hot around here. Do you know of a barebones supplier that just offers BB connections without email, web space, newsgroups etc? The issues with email have me very concerned.

All these can be obtained outside of the ISP, and I'm beginning to think it's a better option than leaving my email in the hands of PN. And if I'm paying other companies to provide such services, PN ceases then to be so economical...
