Attenuation drop

[link to this post]

Right, I thought I'd ring support about my slow Max DSL connection, still at 233kbps

22 minutes later decides that they are going to pass it on to the next tier, wait 3 - 5 days

So thought I'd try something mentioned here before. I removed the plate on the master socket to show the test socket and I pluged the router in here, complete with filter. Something amazing happened, well for me anyway . My attenuation went from 55dB to 53dB and my line sync went from 2208kbps to 5440kbps Wooohoo!

But how do I make this perminant without leaving the router in the test socket? I have heard about the success with a new NTE5 adsl faceplate. Would this be the way to go?

Any suggestions would be great. I'm so happy that I think I finally may be getting somewhere

Cheers

Chris
