If you are not happy and Plusnet are not giving you enough incentive to stay then you should know the answer already.
If the recent problems don't affect you, or you are happy to ride the rough stuff for a bit, then stay. If they get better, then that's great. If they get worse, or things affect you, leave later.

move is my advice
Moved my main account from PN to IDNet as soon as I saw that my exchange was on the Tiscali LLU List and never regretted it, but still have a PAYG Account for PN at my other house

I am suffering similiar problems to yourself with gaming and the alike and have been with Plusnet for a similiar amount of time. I've decided that I've had enough of 'riding it out' for over 5-6 months now with the comments I've seen on these boards as well - I requested my MAC key and have placed an order elsewhere.
Hopefully things will turn out much better.
Its a shame though tbh, since I did really like Plusnet's support (what it used to be) and services that they provided with the connection. I'm not sure why these changes have occured over the last year and why they feel the need to change everything once every 3 months, but I dont like any of it .

Check out the Which ISP (Residential) forum here on ADSL Guide.
Don't put up with Plusnet, they are going downhill fast, many of us were Plusnet customers and chose to move to pastures new, sometimes you don't know how bad it is with Plusnet until you have actually tried a better ISP.
Yes, try the Which ISP forum here stating what you need from an ISP, you should get good advice there.
Good Luck.

Have you got some figures that show how many people have left, or is it speculation ?

Hi Loates, I was in exactly the same position as you, and I lasted for 2 months before just cancelling broadband altogether, I'd been LLUed without my permission to Tiscali which effectively made me a MAC leper! Anyway, after being on dial-up for a couple of weeks I finally reached a decision and gave NTL a ring. I figured that 3 metres of copper to a fibre optic outside my house just had to be better than 3 kilometres of copper to a fibre optic at my local telephone exchange, plus it's just one company rather than 3 (Plusnet, Ticali, BT) which reduces the scope for blame game problem bouncing. So, I placed the order on Monday evening and I'm writing to you using NTL on Thursday three days later.

Why do you ask?
Its pretty evident a lot of Customers have left Plusnet since the troubles began 18 months ago, even the OP who started this thread looks like he/she wants to leave.
Cheers.

Why aren't you 8Mb yet?
Did you ask them that, and if so, what did they say?
