When to call it a day

[link to this post]

I have been a customer of PlusNet for over 3 years and up until about 6 months ago been well satisfied with the service provided. But over the last few months it appears to have been falling apart: unreliable service, unable to obtain a connection, unreliable speeds, very slow reponse to tickets - with incomplete answers, long waits on phone for customer services, etc. The download speeds over the past 4 days on my 2Mbs Permier service have consistently hovered around 130Kbs, which is like going back dial-up, and again no complete answer on what is causing it or when it will be resolved. Having read various posts on this forum I get the impression that things are not going to improve in the foreseeable future and wonder if it is time to call it a day and move on ? When I selected PlusNet, using the ADLSGuide compare facility, it was a close run race with another ISP, Unlike PlusNet that ISP appears to have maintained its position at the top of the list for speed and quality, so I suppose I backed the wrong horse.... but that's life !

Unless you can put a definite cause on the reduction in speed (which I assume you can't), you may be right. A lot of users seem to be having the same problems right now. I myself had a fair amount of them with the shift from 1Meg to 2Meg for some reason, but I just kept pecking away at them until they resolved it. That's me though.

I wouldn't blame users for trying others ISPs if they have exhausted all other avenues. Best of luck.
