Can anyone log into the portal?
I enter my username and password, click Login, get the message Thank you for logging into the PlusNet portal. If this page does not redirect you, please click here., then about 10 seconds later it goes back to the login screen and the URL has changed to http://faults.plus.net/applications.php?Module=Faults

Hmmm, just tried on another PC and it logs in OK - it's just my machine. I cleared the cache and deleted all PN cookies but still get the same. Shutdown the browser and restarted - still the same. Most odd. Anyway, at least I can get in from another machine which is the most important thing - need to update a Question.
Anyone any idea why this one machine is affected?

Dodgy entry in the host.ini file?
Have you tried a different browser?
It might be worth performing an ipconfig /flushDNS command

Solved it.
I'd run the BB Fault Checker (as it was the only way I could find to raise a ticket/question) and it seems that it wanted to continue with the Fault Check but for some reason it wouldn't with Firefox. Logged in with Konqueror and it went back to the Fault Checker, I cancelled it, now I can log in through firefox.
Interestingly, the other machine I tried on, as per my above post, let me log in and just went to the normal portal page.
Hmmm, odd, at least I've fixed it now........oh, wait a minute........
Oh, for crying out loud, cancelling the Fault Check has closed the question!!!! How *$!@$! stupid is that???? And, it appears there is no way to re-open it!!!!!
Whatever happened to the old ticket system where you could just click New Ticket and that was it. Any idea what to do now? How can I open a new question without running the Fault Checker?

You probably had some sort of outstanding java process running on the PC that wasn't allowing you to login, I tend to do a Control-F5 page refresh to clear any outstanding processes
BTW, even though I use Firefox as my main browser I still have internet explorer just in case. Firefox doesn't want to work properly.

Follow the path that seems correct for your question and as soon as the popup window opens, move it and you will see an option to open a new question there. Works everytime for me, and by following the right start path the question goes to the right ticket pool as well - using the fault method would open the ticket with a '9-5' pool and not the 24 hour pool

Yes, that sounds a likely reason.

But IE isn't available for Unix/Linux

I noticed that when I watched the video about raising a question but unfortunately that doesn't appear to happen when you use the obvious path for this problem in the Help Assistant - My Broadband Connection->Self-test your Connection and Raise a Fault - you just get the step-by-step "wizard" that ends with telling you to run 3 speedtests with the note that if the tests result in speeds greater than certain values the question will be closed as the cause is contention. In my case this will happen as the speedtest I've done reports 932kbps for a "stable_rate" of 1000 but the problem is that the "stable_rate" is wrong as the BRAS is not being updated to match my synch speeds.
