PlusNet we have a problem...

My l8nc graph for today is fairly spectacular :

http://www.l8nc.com/graph.php?jid=1bd9b15f97ab237242f31fa314a34ed5

So Plusnet, where is the problem? No status updates, my browsing is chronically slow, page timeouts - an NO and am NOT on LLU.

Anyone else having the same [censored]-ed up day?

Plusnet 8mb PAYG Broadband - bring it on!
Linksys WAG354G - do it wirelessly!

Did you have the same problem with other sites too generally on the Internet?

iirc the original graph (it will change daily) posted had plenty of blue spiking and a small nabd of red, as opposed to continuous low, level blue.

Yes that's right - check out yesterday (27/9) :
http://www.l8nc.com/graph.php?jid=1bd9b15f97ab237242f31fa314a34ed5&sid=&day=yesterday

Only when I rebooted my router and got connected to ptn-ag2 (was pte-ag1) did it calm down.

Looks like Plusnet have/had a problem but will not admit....where have we heard that before?

The service support pages have been mentioning pte-ag1.

In reply to:

Broadband Disconnections - (Ref 34944) - UPDATE
This is an update to the previously reported problem causing customers provided on our LLU platform to be intermittently disconnected. A copy of the previous announcement can be found here:-
http://usertools.plus.net/status/archive/1159294375.htm

As reported yesterday we now have our LLU customers connecting across 2 of our core routers (ERX's): ptn-ag1 and ptn-ag2.

Monitoring of the platform has continued to see disconnections on ptn-ag1 that do not occur across the second ERX. This is suggestive of a hardware problem specific to ptn-ag1.

We did see a disconnection across both routers at approximately 3.15pm this afternoon however this was quickly attributed to an problem experienced by our wholesaler's backhaul provider.

We have been in frequent discussions with our equipment vendors throughout the day and expect the arrival of replacement hardware at our Telehouse datacentre tommorrow.

The maintenence work to switch this hardware is expected to take place on Friday although further details will be provided nearer the date.

We would like to thank customer's affected by this problem for their continued patience and hope to arrive at a full resolution before long.

Kind Regards,

Bob Pullen
Customer Support

No idea if you're on LLU, and if that's related though.

Edit: Re-read your OP. Not on LLU. Can only guess it's a related issue though. Sounds like AG1 is getting new kit.

Ok.. sounds as if it may be PN from that.. but as a general note it's worth mentioning l8nc.com is hosted on the same network as AG so don't rely on the single fact their graphs show something /and/ AG has high latency to be sure something is wrong.. I don't think we had any problems at the time.. and especially not of the 200ms sort.. Hence my question about other sites being slow/latent.
