No Human Beings anymore?

[link to this post]

I want to ring plusnet for my MAC Key to be generated as im sick to death of their shoddy poor service and CISAS are gunna take a day and forever. Ive already cancelled the DD and ill even pay this final paymants rubbish but i cant find a single phone number to ring to get this sorted. when i ring the 0845 number every option terminates the call, or should i just report it as a fault that as i cant get online i cant ask for my mac key??

TIA,
KingP

I think you can only request a MAC codes through the ticket system. If you can't log in then try option 2, 1 and 1 IIRC.

If you can't get through then forget CISAS just ring ISPA and lodge a complaint, they will act a lot quicker.

MAC requests must be made by ticket so you would be wasting your time trying to get through the IVR on the phone system. Also in your ticket state how much you calculate the final payments to be (deferred activation/migration/hardware and months till end of contract as required) and that Plusnet can take the money. You will need a credit or debit card listed on your account to pay this as it cannot be taken via direct debit. This way you will be able to skip the next question Plusnet ask which is for you to confirm that they can take the final payment.

You will have to give 30 days notice and this starts from when you request the MAC and not when it is issued. Also any payments due before you migrate out will need to be paid in full. You will be able to reclaim anything paid over the 30days notice period (when I left in May I was given this refund automatically but this doesn't always happen).

Well i think its going to be nildram first on a month by month basis and see how it goes as the mrs wants the BT home hub thing and we dont really need it anyway, it just looks nice  but PN have pushed me and pushed me and not even read the replies i have sent to them on the tickets. ive kept copies of them though as im sure watchdog want to see this, specially as they are on a broadband witch hunt at the minute as per TalkTalks review the other night

Good luck with your new ISP. Just a couple of words of warning about Nildram, they are owned by Pipex and it seems many people have been complaining recently about poor support times since the original staff don't seem to post or run the support teams anymore. There might also be issues with network stability from what I have gathered from my recent but brief glance in their forum. Look into this first. The second is that Pipex own Bulldog and they are migrating people to BD LLU ADSL. I have no problem with LLU as long as it works but make sure that you don't get stuck with Nildram and come the end of the month and wanting to move you will only have limited choice in a new ISP. Otherwise I wish you the best. Nildram have an excellent name in the industry, let's hope that Pipex are not out to destroy it.

Seems only way is to get onto the ticket system using dialup or Internet cafe or someone elses broadband if your is not working
