I am sorry but...

PlusNet is now completely beyond any joke you have ever encountered. I have moved to a new house where, thankfully, I can get a full blown 10Mbit cable connection. It's a complete God-send. Hardly ever goes down and speeds are ACTUALLY 10Mbit (downloads, anyway)!!!

Come back home to my parents place, who have allegedly been upgraded to 8Mbit connection. Hahaha! Yeah, right! Web browsing is OK, but is no faster than normal 2Mbit connection. What reallllllly annoys me is anything other than web browsing is complete and utter %*$

I fancy that PlusNet would prefer it if meddlesome, interfering, knowledgeable and vociferous sons never visited their parents... How many folk tolerate a carp service only because they don't have a clue that it's supposed to be better?

Well that last upgrade to the Ellacoya 6.4 rollout did it for me, the jigsaw puzzle was taking shape, with the first rollout which stoped me from downloading torrents, which i had to turn on the "encryption RC4" and at the same time limewire was a only 10k download speed, (which at the time i thought it was just limewire being carp) then the last rollout which stoped me from downloading torrents,which in return explained why my speeds with lime wire were abysmal.

First rollout = stoped p2p, but by passed with RC4 for torrents.

Second rollout = stoped p2p, stoped RC4 torrents, infact stoped everything.

If i knew sooner this was the reason (which i had a cut feeling they were up to something) i would have left a long time ago.

hit them where it hurts.

get your folks to migrate to an ISP...
