Anyone using the Cisco 857W router?

Hi All

Title says it

I have been looking at upgrading some of my kit and got a pointer to the Cisco series as the 'dogs danglies'. Any feedback by PlusNet users who have used this model or the series?

I use an 877W, and it's an ace bit of kit. Make sure you know how to use it before you buy it though, because Ciscos don't come with manuals.

I have an 837 and was using it until recently when I changed to a 1721 with WIC-1ADSL fitted. Both outstanding, but both pricey.

Fair comment about a manual, but there is PLENTY of info available on the net.

Absolutely; my point was that the OP should not expect a straghtforward out of the box experience unless they have a bit of Cisco experience. IMHO, they're a bit overkill for a "home-type" broadband connection - you'd be paying for loads of functionality you'll never use.
