Torrent speeds.. VPN = Fast

[link to this post]

My crappy torrent download speed was maxing at like 30kb/s. (im on premier btw)

As soon as I start using secureIX the download shoots to well over 200kb/s on the same torrent in the same minute.

Clearly there is some strange stuff going on... any ideas why I should have to use a VPN to get decent torrent speeds?

It's probably PN's Ellacoya traffic shaping coming in to play.

after some tweaking I can get my own connection to go around 150 now.. (unticking block anon connections in my router really helped I think). Still must be something going on though. Im not over my limit for shaping to occur yet apparently..

you shouldnt say thing like that on here mate, soon as word gets out about that they will throttle the IP block..

plusnet's shaping kicks in 24/7. there is no such thing as 'clean' allowance, it probably just has higher priority on the network untill you reach a certain amount.
