Broadband phonecalls

[link to this post]

have just been checking my 'Summary of Internet activities' and notice that, apparently, I have used just over a gig on Broadband phonecalls in the last 3 weeks. This is a bit odd since I have never activated my Broadband Phone account. Am I missing something here? or is the "View my broadband usage" feature still giving random figures?
Regards,

JJ (still on BB+)

It shouldn't be random, but it sounds like something you are doing is being identified (And prioritised) as Voip - Maybe Skype or some other chat client?

Do you think you haven't used the data at all, or just that it is misclassified?

Out of interest just checked mine. Like you have NEVER used broadband phone EVER.

Showing 15Mb... not much I know but PNs profiling seems to be amiss.

Would the misclassified data be classed as titanium traffic by the ellacoyas? If so how do I arrange for all my data to be misclassified

Ian,
We do not use Skype, what other 'chat clients' could do this?
I know for a fact that the usage figures have been inaccurate in the past (under as well as over reporting) so I usually take them with a pinch of salt, but a gig for a service I'm not even hooked up to made me think......

JJ

Any VoIP type service such as our Broadband Phone service or Skype as well as services like Vonage or SIP providers like SIPGate. Also voice chat services like Googletalk, MSN Voice and Yahoo Messanger Voice would be classed as Broadband Phone Calls.

Yep - Bring on the titanium :-)

I'm most interested to know the outcome of this - More often than not when we look into these there turns out to be a rational explanation!
