Webmail now unavailable outside of PlusNet

Looks like PN have found further serious problems with WebMail because the following message appears if you try and access it from outside of the PN IP range (not sure of the exact restriction):

Unfortunately, we are not currently allowing webmail logins from your location. You may use a service such as mail2web.com to collect your email.

Access is expected to be restored within the next few weeks. We would like to apologise for any inconvience this may cause.

AIUI webmail should be available within the UK at present. What company owns the IP block you are using (eg who is the ISP?)

PN reps have confirmed in the forums that:

"We have temporarily limited access to webmail to UK only IP addresses purely as a precaution whilst we continue our investigations."

Given the company I work for there is a possibility that the IP address appears to be not sourced in the UK.

That would explain it then. I was just wondering in case you had a UK IP and couldn't get in for some reason.

I moved from Plusnet to SKY not so long ago and still use my plusnet email account but now cannot access plusnet from a SKY ip address. I get the same message as the OP. Any ideas how I can get round this and access my plusnet email from a SKY isp connection?

You could try contacting someone at PlusNet to see if they can amend the IP ranges they've blocked. Or log into the portal and setup a redirect to send all of your PlusNet mail to another address, or just access the PlusNet mail via POP3/IMAP.
You could probably use some funky proxies to make it look as if you're inside the 'safe' IP range, but it's probably not worth the hassle.

If you can't log in to webmail you'll probably find the portal is blocked as well now.

I can't even get the Portal now, let alone webmail! There's a message saying it (the portal) is down for essential maintenance.
