What the hell has happened here?? No broadband!!!

[link to this post]

OK, I asked plusnet for my MAC code the other day, which they gave me in a couple of hours. I then passed this onto orange who said that it might take up to ten days for me to transfer over with no loss of service. However, I`ve just tried to get online, 2 days later, and I have no broadband connection at all and an email from plusnet telling me they`ve closed my account! My understanding was that I would get service until I got transferred to Orange, or have I misunderstood this?

OK, just to confuse me even further I`ve just recieved this baffling email -

Hi,

I'm sorry about this, I'm not entirely sure where the 12th February date has come from, something on one of the databases somewhere either our side or BT's side made it look like you'd already migrated out.

The account though should now be back on and you should be able to connect.

If it's a choice between PN and Orange I would choose PN

The way I always see it is how much value do you put on your broadband?

I think Dave is right!. Look at the response you got to your post 1hr 3mins!!!. I sincerely hope you get the same prompt response from Orange should you need to contact them. Also I wouldn't sign up to anything more than a monthly contract.

Worth pointing out that that wasn't a 1 hour 3min response time - when Dave posted he had already re-enabled the account!

If you are going to Orange I wish you luck. They one of the worst ISP's in the country. Make sure you get a really short contract and not one of the 18 month types.
