I started getting the 'X'. I read somewhere (probably on here!) that it's a problem with the Java cache. Uninstalling then reinstalling Java fixed the problem for me.

Edit: I've always used http://speedtester.bt.com (no www)

I thought your suggestion of removing and reinstalling Java was a bit drastic.

So I looked in Java Control Panel and noticed there is an option to empty the Java temporary cache. I closed IE7 first, then cleared the Java cache.


That has fixed the problem for me.

speedtester.bt.com now works through IE7.
