Thomson 585v7 router versions

[link to this post]

Hello,

According to the Plusnet website there is a difference between the versions of the Thomson 585v7 routers supplied before and after Dec 2008, the latter is described as the Plusnet version, what are the differences?

Many thanks.

Hiya,

The latest version using our new version of firmware, which offers TR-069 functionality once we've built our own platform.

It also added a little drop down menu to select your ISP from (JLP/Plusnet) I believe.

Thanks James,

So is it therefore Plusnet specific where as the previous one was a generic off-the-shelf Thomson unit?

Regards.

Hiya,

They are Plusnet branded (there's a Plusnet logo in the setup screen) but they're not locked to Plusnet.
