A friend asked for advice about changing from Tiscali now that her teenage son wants decent performance to game online. Currently she connects by a USB modem. A supplied wireless router though not essential, would obviously be preferable than extra outlay. I would guestimate her usage up to 5gig maybe 10gig a month max.
Her options seemed varied till ISP availability checkers reported the line as LLU'd by Tiscali.
Samknows comes back with LLU options limited to talk talk, orange, no sky easynet no Be/O2.
Her budget is £15-20 max a month and the £47 migration fee charged to go back to a BT based ISP, especially one that doesn't provide a free wireless modem router, is a step too far.
Am I right in thinking plusnet take on LLU lines return them to BT and theoretically absorb the cost over the 12 month period of the "pro" option? Am I right in thinking this is her best move in these circumstances?
