Unable to Connect

[link to this post]

Hi,

My folks just recently migrated from Virgin ADSL to Plusnet and got an e-mail stating the plusnet connection was ready.
However, when they changed the login details in the router (Netgear DG834G) it doesn't seem to want to connect. Just states LCP is allowed to come up but does not connect. (Have checked settings several times, but all appears to be correct.)

Anyone any ideas what could be causing the issue? It was working fine on Virgin - until it got cut off. i.e. was working on Virgin yesterday.

If the ADSL Light is GREEN but you are unable to CONNECT, you are probably failing PPP Authentication. The most likely causes are:

1) You have not entered your Username in the Router in the format [email protected]

2) Your password is wrong. Remember that it is case sensitive.

3) PlusNet have not started your service. If it still doesn't connect 20 mins sfter you first tried, give PlusNet a call and they will do it. They are available 24/7

Power the router down and back up again. Then enter the new details. That should do it.

Thanks for the help folks.
They ended up calling Plusnet customer support and raised a fault. They also did a factory reset of the router and re-configured it.
Either way, one of these things seemed to fix the problem.
Cheers.
