I have been having intermittent problems accessing certain web sites, including this one. A retry normally works. It has been reported on the Community forums.

No, still oddly unable to access various sites including PlusNet's own portal.

Here at Think BB it was inaccessible for the last half hour then came up again with a 30 second delay on refresh???

Even Google fails!!!!

It seems to be a DNS problem - switching to OpenDNS fixes it

I rebooted my router at about 8am and it took a while for DNS to resolve.

All fine since though.

Solution

[re: deleted] [link to this post]

There is a recorded message on +net help line that says there are issues with the DNS servers.

I managed to find the IP addresses for Open DNS

208-67-222-222
208-67-220-220

pop those into where ever you set up the dns and away you go. smile

Yup. couldn't get to that address. However a quick phone call to a mate got what I needed. See 'Solution' above.

Of course you will not be going very far if you enter the IP addresses like that frown

IPV4 addresses have a period in them not a hyphen but I'm sure you knew that smile

Yes, that link opens smile

But as for fixing "my end" I would rather wait to see what PlusNet do by later today.

For the Fix Site to immediately suggest the cure is purely user end when nothing has changed for me i.e. no new installations & happily been sending emails until this morning!

Edit - just checked the email has now gone from the outbox!

PS And other sites now showing ~ phew :~D

It's getting better. I can access almost everything now: when I first logged on, about 9 a.m, it was almost nothing!

I am wondering if it has been on the blink for a few days, because I have been getting slow refresh and occasional unexpected 404 errors for some time now. I was thinking something was up at my end. It'll be interesting to see if this fixes it. wink
