Plus Net Servers

[link to this post]

Today next to nothing has connected quickly. As an example:
Tracing route to hp-intl-uk.ebay.com [66.135.200.146]

over a maximum of 30 hops:
1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.0.1
2 37 ms 35 ms 35 ms lo0.plusnet.thn-ag1.plus.net [195.166.128.101]
3 * 3987 ms 37 ms vl703.thn-gw1.plus.net [84.92.4.241]
4 40 ms 37 ms 38 ms ldn-b4-link.telia.net [213.248.84.201]
5 35 ms 36 ms 37 ms 62.156.138.53
6 178 ms 179 ms 181 ms 217.239.40.102

Could somebody explain what the problem is as I am having difficulty accessing well known banks and other financial sites too.

TVM - but are these things not being monitored? It seems to me to be a fairly regular occurance not just something that has happened today.

Just one of those things I think some isp's servers don't work at all and customers have to use opendns

FFS this is not Tiscali (is it?). I can't even access OpenDNS either...

I'll take a bet on it this info is what you're trying to access:

Open DNS

208.67.222.222

208.67.220.220

Like you, I could not access the info when I needed it (Catch 22), so I've written it down now.

Not sure if it was a directly Plusnet thing - I use OpenDNS already & was getting some sites (www.bbc.co.uk for one) just not loading at times, while other sites seemed unaffected.

I am getting intermittent loss of connectivity now. frown Messenger keeps showing as signed-out, and websites on auto-refresh mysteriously lose the data.
