No doubt someone has a link or the info.
If a person moves from the old Opt 2 to the new unlimited, what are the pro / cons.
BTW well done PN for the change, whatever the reason.
Also if a PN staff is allowed to answer, has there been a bigger uptake since the 10 day contract?

Hi David,
It's very hard to measure increases in sales on the back of the planned contract changes as we've a massive amount of marketing activity currently going on in London.
The obvious benefit from moving to Unlimited would be the increased usage allowance. There are differences in traffic management however, which you can see here.

Kitz has a useful side-by-side comparison tool. Same info as James's links but neat, and colour-coded.

And thanks to Kitz for the info.

What's the plan when VAT goes up again.
Are you going to absorb the cost of the new products?

The decisions on what we'll be doing haven't been made yet I'm afraid, though we will be publishing information as soon as we have it.

Thanks for the (non) information.
Also if someone did switch to the new product, can they switch back if they don't like it? (if so the time frame that the switch back would need to be in)

Yes, we're happy to move people back if needed though in some circomstances it may not be possible. It depends on the situation. In your case of option 2 to unlimited there wouldn't be any issues.

Bit hard to decide without knowing the specifics of the pending VAT changes David.

I'm thinking of moving from BBYW2 to Value. I've looked at the traffic shaping comparison and don't think I'd be affected much by the change, apart from paying less! Could someone from Plusnet confirm that I, too, could move back to BBYW2 (after, say, one month) if it wasn't what I was expecting? Also, am I right in thinking that, after 20 Oct or so, the notice period will be the same as on BBYW2?

Hi there,
We'd have no problems moving you back within 30 days if Value wasn't suitable, and you're right about the notice period.

Thanks for the information. I shall give Value a go.

Have I taken my eye off the ball and missed the change (how embarrassing if true), is the Pro package at £19.99 really completely unrestricted at all times of the day and night - as the links from James and Kitz seem to suggest?
I'm on legacy Premier (£21.52), but up until now have been happy to stay put because of the longer unrestricted times. Am I paying £1.50 a month too much for an inferior product??
|
|
|
Yep - And has been for a couple of years
I wouldn't necessarily say Premier is inferior - it suits different people. If you do want to move to Pro, drop me a PM and I'll happily sort it out for you.
|
|
|
|
Ah, a closer look shows me that Pro limits me to 15Gb download between 8am and midnight, where Premier gives me 20Gb between 4pm and midnight - the rest unmetered but a little shaped. Thank you James, but I think I'll stay where I am for the moment. You pays your money and you takes your choice!
