Plusnet Value, iPlayer etc use question

[link to this post]

A member of my family needs a cheap connection (no LLU on their exchange). They are only interested in surfing, email etc, but would also want access now and again to iPlayer, 4od, ITV player, Demand Five.

Just wondering if access to these TV catchup services are throttled at all on the Value connection?

Also on the Plusnet site it mentions downloads from 'download sites' are throttled. I take it they mean Rapidshare etc. Are file downloads from normal sites throttled or do these come down at full speed.

Thanks in advance.

Streaming from those sites isn't throttled but downloads are.
Regarding download sites have a read here http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/quality_broadb...

Take a look at Newnet Home M. No throttling or traffic management and should provide enough bandwidth. (Until her horizons expand!)

Bob's broadband help site:

ISP history: Demon dialup >> Freeserve dialup >> BT Broadband >> Prodigynet >> Newnet >> O2 Premium.
Purple Cloud for domain, email and web space.
