First time with plusnet

I've signed up for the value product and expect to be activated about 9th Mar. It's a new house for me and new BB for there so not sure what the connection will be like, though on signing ujp it said 6Mb. I;ve had a quick look at the wiring and it looks perhaps like it has a newish looking BT phone box thing so hopefully it will be decentish. Question I have - is the setup really easy out of the box as I am getting the wireless router delivered to me in london where I live half of the week and wondering if I should print out stuff to take with me for the setup once I get to the Fens.

It should set itself up automatically - however - I would still print the setup information out just in case

Surely it comes with preprinted set up instructions. Why would you need to print them out again?

I have just helped somebody to set up a new PN connection. The modem/router does come with printed instructions. Most important of all, don't lose the little sticky label with the default passwords on it. Recommend setting it up with a wired connection first to avoid the extra variables of wireless networking.

Take a note of the helpline phone number in case you're in real trouble. You won't be able to look it up online:

The setup is not entirely automatic. You have to enter your username and password.

PS: I'm out of date here. Looks like some clever arrangments have been made to automate the setup. . http://www.plus.net/support/broadband/hardware/tr69f...

I recently joined PN and asked for a MAC after only 2 weeks.I left Pipex after the price hike (wished I'd stayed with them) Was enjoying solid 3 Mb download speed
and now stuck with less than 1 Mb.Costing me £80 to move - must be some kind of record.....
All I wanted was a reply to a simple question - why the difference in speed considering the same Router,Computer,Copper wire to Exchange - still waiting....

Can you post your router line stats > KITZ link

Try the BT speedtester and post the results including what the IP profile is in case it's stuck
