You have to appreciate that the sponsoring is less about advertising in a blatant way, and more about the name of the sponsor entering the subconscious. I don't watch Big Brother and millions don't, but those that do will know of another ISP by the end of the show (it's over several weeks).

Exactly, I'm underwhelmed by Plusnet choosing to sponsor this so-called entertainment, but it must surely be much more effective than conventional TV advertising and so, I presume, rather more expensive. The main reason in my case is that I watch nothing in real time, it's always recorded, so the ads are always skipped, but the sponsorship breaker is exactly what you look for when skipping the adverts.

Surely the last thing that sort of gormless joking, (it cannot be called humour), is going to do is lighten anyone's day. Or are you going to say you find it funny and entertaining?

It's amusing. Are you over the age of 40 by any chance?

Well over. It isn't. It's mindless junk, and nothing to do with age.

Are you ageist by any chance?

I would expect such a response from a member of your age group. They can't please everyone!

As a long term (5+years) customer of PlusNet I have to deal with them on regular basis.
So far I deemed it being well run by intelligent people, now I am not sure !
Surely they must know Big Bro is the most IDIOTIC program on UK's TV !
Why would they want to be associated with that (censored) ?

Quite frankly I would change ISP's,
but as a moderate user on Market 1 exchange I have no sensible alternative frown

Personally I think it's good marketing

It gets people talking and hence increases brand awareness. I know so many people who have no idea plus net exists.

Things like this make people consider plus net when getting broadband whereas it wouldn't enter their minds otherwise.

& it's also a little bit of light humour - whether it's too your taste or not.

& yes it might be tack but that's a part of life nowadays

Why would you need to regularly deal with an ISP if they were well run?. As for alternatives on a Market 1 exchange, check out the Post Office Unlimited Broadband Extra and Home Phone, much cheaper than PN and a lot more included.
