Nope, also getting when I ring the number its not recognised. Really have a bad feeling about all this.

I only moved over as my boy plays xbox and wanted better ping, really am kicking myself for switching im over a barrel now, if I wanted to go back to sky and it will take at least 2 weeks but reading around plusnet will probably pass the buck to openreach and it will be like a sick game of tennis.

Feel deflated. Currently using my phone as wifi hotspot and gave it to my lad, pings probably going to be poor but just explained whats happened.

Thanks for your interest though mr safron.

NO. It could easily not have started till 7pm, but once it had started I would expect it to be all complete and running within 1-2 hours.

I lay you odds Openreach have posted it as "Job completed", and told Plusnet that.

Apparently not, I rang at 4.30pm got told its ok they having to manually move my wires at the exchange job be done by midnight. I then phoned at 8pm because I'd didn't sound right they said their supplier I.e. openreach should of got back to them about my number being ported and my order is delayed so not only no phone or bb but I was lied to at 4.30pm. I can see this being a long running saga myself.

I had a bad feeling as in my account it said well move you in 2-3 weeks even though is been given a date a few weeks ago of today for phone, tomorrow for broadband.

Hi there,

Really sorry to hear that. I'd like to look into it for you if you could post up a ticket ID or drop me a PM with your username? My understanding was that the issue with migrations including phone lines between LLU providers was now sorted so it'd be good to try and find out what's going on and try and get it sorted for you as soon as possible.

Ok my internet is on but not authorising, can you manually enable then we can work on the phone issue? I can use voip that way for time being. As for the phone if sky not releasing a new number is fine, something memorable would be handy. Cheers. If you can do this it will improve the situation immense.

You're not alone!

My daughter was due to switch from TalkTalk to PN Fibre yesterday on my recommendation. Engineer booked between 1300 and 1800 but of course no show. Landline appears to have been switched but no BB since first thing yesterday and no idea of when it will be provided.

Thanks Matt,

Broadband is working and seems very responsive actually smile

If you can remove the upload cap it will be great but alas my internet is actually working which was my main concern smile

Also Matt thanks for everything but one small favor as well as the cap remove can we go a thing called fastpath?

Thanks Again

The default should be Fast Path - have you checked the line stats? Post them if you want a diagnosis. Full stats including the error counts are needed.

Thanks Robert, ill post them up later as not long back in again. Must say the ping and jitter is nice 18ms ping 1 jitter. Web pages seem fairly instant too.

Definitely made the right choice, just shame the switch over was a problem but onwards and upwards.

Hi,

We'll certainly be able to do both, but not until the orders are complete. I realise the broadband is working (which is great news) but as it's a sim provide it won't be marked as complete until the phone is, and that's due for review on the 12th I believe.

I'll keep chasing and keep you posted.

Lady rang this morning with an update and I told her that you was involved and i`d rather you moved things forward.

You seem competent enough and to be honest i`m a happy bunny.

@RobertOS, i`m just going to plug the router in that plusnet gave me, the reason i didn`t is I have a RT-N66 and it runs tomato but i`ve got to get the plusnet router and the rt-n66 to talk to each other :0)

I can then telnet in and let you know.

Thanks for all the guys help on here

No, she will have to find her embarrassed father who recommended her, to get access to her PN account where I believe the excuses are in a ticket!

Hope yours gets sorted sooner rather than later.

We tried to do the same - switch from TalkTalk to PN for Fibre. The transfer was agreed on the 18th June - two months ago - and we're still waiting! We've had to put up with very long delays for an engineer, lost orders, lost broadband and cancelled OR appointments.

Our cherished phone number of 15 years got lost in the process. Internet access vanished for 8 days after OR seized the line from TalkTalk without giving proper notice. ("slamming"?) TalkTalk was deservedly miffed as that's apparently not supposed to happen.

That seizing of the line from TalkTalk was about the only thing that's been done swiftly so far!

The transfer to PN has cost us an extra 100 pounds to date, for bills that weren't bargained for. What with double line rentals and double broadband charges payable to both PN and TalkTalk (who should have been given 30 days notice, but weren't). Then there's a 50 quid bill for transferring to PN that was never originally agreed, an unneeded ADSL router from Plusnet, and 3G charges for all the time we were without fixed line internet.

For weeks we've been limping along on Plus Net's paltry ADSL1 service (we did have excellent ADSL2+ with TalkTalk), all the time waiting for another OR appointment to connect the fibre cross ties.

Dealing with the BT Group is as bad as dealing with the state-owned monopoly that it replaced! There's still that same mindset, that same mountain of bureaucracy to fight though, very poor communication, missed appointments, and endless delays.

Ironically, the monopoly that was once infamous for its "excess workforce" outsources much of its engineering work today to gangs of poorly-trained kids who are scarcely breaking even, after they've paid their own diesel bills to visit jobs. The poor sods even have to pay for the wasted fuel when they find that the customer isn't at home!

What a mess!
