My father has had broadband & telephone for a number of years from PlusNet but he is suffering Macular degeneration, is registered as blind and is 87 years old, and can no longer see his computer screen.
He phoned PlusNet last week to ask for his broadband to be terminated but for his telephone line to be continued. Unfortunately PlusNet gave BT a closure notice on the phone line. I contacted them last Thursday and they said that they had reinstated the telephone but left the cancellation on the broadband. Great
Yesterday (Saturday) BT was still showing the line to be disconnected so I contacted PlusNet. They said that it was a good job that I had called as on Thursday they had reactivated his telephone account but had not told BT not to disconnect him. All sorted.
I have today looked at the BT website & they are still showing that PlusNet have a stop disconnect notice on the line.
With a confused blind 87 year old I am very concerned that he does not get his telephone disconnected but I am still not convinced that PlusNet are doing the right thing. Any suggestions please.
