BTw Performance Test are never a problem on ADSL/ADSL2/ADSL2+. The only problem arise on FTTC & FTTP.

In reply to a post by adslmax:
Sadly some plusnet customers might NOT getting any BRAS profile on BTw PT
There is no reason for PN to be affected but not other BTw ISP users, like me @ EE.

These are just the odd glitches you get with BTw PT on any ISP.

Download speedachieved during the test was - 52.29 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speedsis 40 Mbps-56.81 Mbps .
Additional Information:
IP Profile for your line is - 56.81 Mbps

Upload speed achieved during the test was - 12.33Mbps
Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 20 Mbps

Run as soon as I read your latest post. Speed may be down as it's wireless.

U're very lucky RobertoS as mine haven't been given Bras Profile for a week now. It's used to work before it all messed up by BTw a week ago.

I just ran a test again and still getting this:

1. Best Effort Test:

Download Speed : 75 Mbps

2. Upstream Test:

Upload Speed : 17.6 Mbps

Your speed test has completed and the results are shown above, however during the test an error occurred while trying to retrieve additional details regarding your service. As a result we are unable to determine if the speed you received during the test is acceptable for your service. Please re-run the test if you require this additional information.

In reply to a post by RobertoS:
...
The ring/bell wire is what made old type phones ring, the ring being generated within the master. Most modern phones can generate it within their own circuitry, though a tiny minority apparently can't. This doesn't normally matter, as the dangly filters also generate it.

Decades ago I got a nasty belt when a telephone rang and I had my fingers in the wiring. Seemingly the ring voltage can be up to 140V.

I thought it was 50v max and a very low current.

Was Eclipse Home Option 1, VM 2Mb & O2 Standard
Now Utility Warehouse (up to 16mbps) via Talk Talk

Given the voltage, the current depends on the electrical resistance of the object to which it is applied. I = V/R.
