If its possible for you to do so, leave the mode/router plugged into the test socket and call plusnet and ask them to reset the line even change the line profile..

Your line should be able to get between 8mbps to 11.5mbps, If you have had the setup like you have for so long, it could take a while before DLM picks up on it and bumps the speed back up

do you require use of any/all the extensions, I say this as you could crimp the incoming line to one of the extensions making the required one the master instead.

probably if it has a Infineon chipset to match your DSLAM at exchange...

If you going to be getting a new router then try and get one that matches exchange equipment and also something that will also work with VDSL (Fibre) when/if you upgrade in future.

I will have a quick look now to see if what you have listed is suitable and if not will recommend similar that is..

But getting back to issue at hand, you could really do with plugging straight into master socket.

Also the router you specified is a Infineon (lantiq) chipset so would work better with exchange equipment.

Sorry mate, just realised that the router you found on amazon would be fine as it also has an ethernet wan to upgrade top faster broadband technologies.

but I still think the new one thats yet to be released looks good.

It isn't necessarily Orange. The important thing is that it is Terminal No. 3, which is often not the 3rd on along.

My broadband basic info/help site - www.robertos.me.uk | Domains,site and mail hosting - Tsohost.
Connection - Plusnet UnLim Fibre (FTTC). Sync ~ 56.6/14.1Mbps @ 600m. - BQM
