What on earth is wrong with plusnet over the last few days? Speedseems to be all over the place and website are taking ages to respond as if the pings are out of this world high, looking at it the pings are naff, 43ms is not great, certainly at this time of day

No problem here.
Perhaps your local exchange is running short of electrons, and you sometimes have to wait for a free one. A bit like queueing at the post-office during busy times.

Surely your example is a queue of postitrons?

Not noticed any issues myself so that suggests a problem local to you. Or perhaps a bad gateway?

No issues with my ADSL connection at the moment, so maybe it's an FTTC thing, maybe something locally?
How long has it been like this?

None here either. Indeed, my FTTC has slowly improved over the past week of so. Was hovering around the 60mb/s mark, now gone up to 63mb. Maybe it congestion on the local exchange.
The new forum is another matter but even there problems I had seems to be more a browser issue than a site issue. Using Firefox, it was real slow. Using Opera the forum loading was the exact opposite. Very fast.

Been on and off for few days now, but to be honest the speed have not been great for months, this time last year I was getting 37Mb/s, but bit by bit it have been going down.
I noticed that sometimes the IP address starts with 87 and other times it starts with 146, but I do not think that makes any difference to the speed.
I should have taken my own advice and not have anything to do with BT.

Do you think it is possible that you may have a fault locally or on the line which is not related to the ISP? Just a thought.

Whichever ISP you use you will get speed fluctuations from time to time. If if happens with me I give it 72 hours before I start complaining (unless its a major drop in speed).

Yes, that is possible, it is also possible that I have a problem with my router as my tablet and phone would not connect to it this morning.
Reset it, tablet and phone is working on it now, but everything is still slow, apart from internal network which seems ok.
I should have stayed where I was.
