Slow download after switch

Switch from ADSL to fibre both with Plusnet. Download speed is pretty pathetic after two days still at 1.7Mbps upload is ok at 10.75Mbps. I know they said it can take 14 days to settle but really to go to 10% of what I had on ADSL seems a little wrong. Done all the tests quiet line, ok, mastersocket test with the filter attached, no difference to performance. I am expecting too much after a short time?

Estimated Download Range: 38 - 40Mbps
Estimated Upload Range: 8 - 10Mbps
Minimum Guaranteed Speed: 30.9Mbps
Current Line Speed (Download): 40Mbps

Those figures don't tell us anything about your actual speed, they are all estimates apart from the misnamed "Current Line Speed" which not a speed at all but an internal Plusnet profile. You need to know your sync speeds by viewing the connection stats by logging in to the router, if it is the Hub one they are on the Helpdesk tab somewhere, possibly under diagnostics. The Plusnet site may have some instructions on how to get the stats.

FTTC lines do not take 14 days to settle so it looks like you have a problem.

Are you connected via Ethernet or WiFi?

Was due to the router using the [email protected] account rather than mine, I sure I didn't see that in the instructions!

Getting 37 download and 9.5 upload now.

The Plusnet TR069 system should send the router the correct username and password by linking the router serial number to your account, but when this doesn't work you get stuck on the setup account.

I never encountered that issue because i used my own router and the supplied openreach modem
