Plusnet wants to offer me a new contract 18 months for £27, I am paying £24 at the moment with 8 months left, so why on earth do they think I would go for another 18 months at a higher price?
Don't make sense, and they think this is a great offer.

With Plusnet you need to phone retentions armed with better deals from other companies and get them to lower the price.
If they refuse to budge say you will have to think about it (never say you want to cancel) and call back the following day and try again.
This is a good time to negotiate with all the Black Friday deals.
At an absolute minimum you should be able to get it for the price it costs a new Plusnet customer without all the vouchers/cashback.
Also do not forget to factor in the 13% price rise come March a good deal will not last long so I would always try to reduce the monthly cost of what you are currently paying! 18 months may be better than a 24 month contract also as you have to take these in contract price increases so the option to renegotiate after 18 months is better in my opinion.
Not knowing the exact package you are on I think aiming for something like £21/£22 a month seems reasonable. So try to get them to price match to something lower and then grudgingly accept £21/£22 if they try to meet you in the middle

If you've 8 months left, there's no hurry is there? Hang on until just before the contract ends and see what deal you can get then.

Thanks, but I know that I need to phone retentions, saying that the last time they just offered me a good deal, but then i was out of contract,
No, no, I am not going to renew now, I don't want to go for another 18-month contract as I said above i still have 8 months left, well 7, but plusnet say it is 8.
I am on their lowest FTTC package, up to 36Mb/s average thing. I have said elsewhere about looking at Now broadband when my contract ends, it is cheaper and they offer 12 months contract.
I just thought it was funny that when i logged in they offered me something that was more expensive than I am paying now, when i went into the offers section, they did offer me something cheaper than I am paying now by about 50p i think

I logged in to look at something and I got the offer and i just thought it was funny, I am not going to bother, i will wait until just before my contract ends, but as i said above in my last reply, I am looking at now broadband.
In their offers' thing, they did offer me 50P off on what I am paying now. i am waiting until the end of my contract and then decide which way I am going.

They are "offering" me this "great deal" as well. The speed is higher, which presumably explains the price-tag. However, I don't need the extra speed. Until recently, I was limping along at about 2Mbps on ADSL at the end of a very long line. So with 30-40Mbps on Fibre, I don't know I'm born! In a single-person household, I don't foresee a need for 60+ anytime soon. If I had a houseful of people all streaming and gaming at the same time, then no doubt it would be necessary, but my current speed is enough for everything I do at the moment.

The speed was the same here, the deal has gone now, but I can go for another contract for a few pence less, It would take the contract to June 2024, this contract ends in June next year.
I remember ADSL days, 3Mb/s if I was lucky and then FTTC made a difference, 36Mb/s is great I can do everything I need. Times have changed since the ADSL days, with more streaming and now with 4K streaming. But like you, I live alone, and I only do one thing at a time normally online, ok sometimes I may download something on the computer, while I am watching something on Disney, but I can still that on what I have.
The other half has 200Mb./s with Gigaclear, she pays £40 a month for that and yet she does the same thing as I do, sadly she has little choice as normal broadband where she lives is not good at all, she did have 600Mb/s, but dropped it down when the contract ran out.
So yes, while going from ADSL to FTTC was like going from Dial up to ADSL in making a difference to how we use the net, going to Fibre for a lot of people is not the big step up.

I've had several emails from TTB offering a better deal, twice I've spoken to them about taking it up, both times they refused to give me the deal they offered me.
