Plusnet won’t give me an offer I expected something for the years I’ve been with them.
You haven't said the price Plusnet have offered you for renewal.

£31.99 then £37.99 from march then 2026 £40.99, 24 months contract.

They are very difficult to get a price reduction now it seems.

So you want a static IP, you want good support, you want to be able to phone someone after 5pm, and you don't want to pay much for it.

Can you see why you are not having much luck?
To be fair they haven't asked that their ISP send someone round to clean the house once a week smile

That is one of the reason I went, I had been paying £25 for a few years, and they wanted to stick it up to £35 for FTTP, which i did not want and even when they did give me an offer for FTTC, it was still over £30.

I think as some others as said they are trying to push people to EE, I was not going to EE, that is BT under a different name. Yes, before anyone comes out with it, I know plusnet is owned by BT, i only went to them as a stop[ gap, okay that stop gap ended up being 9 years, but Plusnet was different to BT, they were run as a separate thing and the customer service was far better.

I wish you luck with EE, I did not think they offered static IPs. I use a dynamic DNS for what I need, not very often I need to get to anything here and my NAs comes with a system to connect to it, not sure about the security of it, but it should be okay, Terramaster is a big player in the market now

He is no different from most of us in that we want to get things as cheap as we can if the service or item does what we need. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. I don;lt go crazy with prices, most of the time, even if I did spend a lot of money on a printer a couple of weeks ago.
sometimes you just got to.

Been with Plusnet for years and I’m on the 145 package Full Fibre.

Time to contract but won’t go any cheaper, I was thinking of going Vodafone but the calls go to India and it’s bad communication I’ve tried.

Saw another company called Pine Media but they close at 5PM and if any problems later you have to ring up leave a voicemail to see if anyone conracts you but their AI advisor does abit or something. Didn’t bother

Tried EE and they can knock money off contract which is great, ordered it but sadly no Static IP for CCTV hoping they work as always known had to have static ip, but apparently Plusnet don’t do a static anymore so if I lose this her and come back to Plusnet they won’t offer a static!

Plusnet won’t give me an offer I expected something for the years I’ve been with them.

We appreciate your custom they said, yeah right…

You need to choose a provider who meets your needs sufficiently well, at a price you're comfortable with.

If Plusnet isn't offering that, and you say you're going to walk, who are you going to walk to?

You've ruled out Vodafone which is the other cheap-as-chips option - despite the fact that you've said you want a static IP, and they are one of the few providers who still offer it.

You've ruled out EE, who in any case will be more expensive and don't offer static IP.

I don't think you have any options left, and you're going to have to compromise somewhere. At the end of the day, the value of the pound falls over time, and you can expect prices to drift upwards in the long term.

If you really want a static IP and decent customer service at a reasonable price, then staying with Plusnet was probably your best bet, even if it's not as cheap as when you first joined. But if you've already left them, you won't be able to get a static IP when you rejoin.

If you're happy to compromise on customer service, then there's Vodafone.

If you're happy to compromise on the static IP, by using dynamic DNS or cloud services for your CCTV (as most people do), then you have a much wider range of choices, but still not very many at the already low price of Plusnet and Vodafone. Talktalk is the main one, but their customer service isn't exactly top rated either, and their financial viability is looking shaky.

Or would you be happier to compromise on your service speed and reliability, by moving to 4G/5G broadband and drop the FTTP?!
