My router HG 1800,just came up with a 'virus' warning and told me to do a scan. Never had that kind of warning before.

Your router has a screen?

What I'm saying is how do you know it was your router and not yet another malicious website trying to get you to run their dodgy software?

2Wire devices can do this sort of thing at least for parental control stuff, i.e. got to a site on the routers blacklist and get a 'you are not allowed message', it is concievable that they're spotting some traffic patterns and intercepting the HTTP requests.

Screen shots, further investigation though seems wise

Because I clicked ok and it took me to my router firewall.
I have Kaspersky 2009 on my computer (scan was clean)
Malwarebytes = clean.
My security job is in a very large Swedish owned store.
Thanks for all your advice.
ps-This warning popped up when I was usinfg 'Safari', on Vista.
