[link to this post]

Once files have downloaded and firefox scans them it takes ages for this scanning procedure to finish and only since i started using NOD32.

Anyone have any ideas?

so its a feature for it to take ages when scanning files and use 100% processor?

What kind of feature is that?

The only time I have seen it go into overload is downloading >100Mbyte files

How do I prevent Mozilla FireFox from scanning my downloaded files multiple times?

I've known this since version 2. I upgraded to 4.2 and large files still take a couple of seconds to finish while being scanned. Apparently it's because Nod 32 simulates opening the file virtually and tests each file within the package for viruses as if it was being extracted/installed. How you turn off this feature I'm not sure maybe someone can suggest the option to turn off, but I can live with a couple of seconds at the end of a download.
