KeePass, got to pass this on!

[link to this post]

Hi, I got to pass this on, KeePass this password security programme is fantastic and you can use it for free.

In the past, my passwords I wrote on Post-it Notes and stuck them on the side of the monitor. I ended up with 43 and thought this is getting unmanageable, when I needed a password it took me ages going through these Post-it slips. Then I see this KeePass programme and its been invaluable for keeping all my passwords safe and in order, I must have over a hundred now. smile

Yeah, I now only need to remember one password and that one is well imprinted in my mind have used it since dial-up days 1995. Before that, I had CompuServe and used their provided web browser and password; there was no Microsoft Internet Explorer back then. frown

The first version of Internet Explorer (later referred to as Internet Explorer 1) made its debut on August 16, 1995. It was a reworked version of Spyglass Mosaic, which Microsoft had licensed.

I've used an old DOS based program called PassPack (no relation to any version you will find on the www) for years. F1 cut/copy site, F2 cut/copy user name, F3 cut/copy password, etc. Much easier to use than modern alternatives.

And the usernames/passwords are stored by PassPack using what kind of encryption?

I'd expect if it is that old, if it uses any encryption at all it will be a standard that has now been cracked.

Just something to note in case some miscreant gets their hands on your files.
